Western Canada with Inside Passage with Extended Stay in Banff - GSA (8385)

15 days from Vancouver to Calgary

2018 Tour Details

Fun experiences and stunning scenery by land, boat, and train—these are what you’ll experience on this western Canada tour. Spend two nights in Vancouver, Victoria, Prince Rupert, and Jasper National Park; four nights in Banff National Park; and one night in Port Hardy and Prince George.

A tour highlight is the Inside Passage cruise from Port Hardy to Prince Rupert. One of the world’s most beautiful ocean voyages, you’ll witness towering mountains, roaring waterfalls, endless islands, and virgin rainforest. Keep your eyes open for sea lions, eagles, porpoises, and maybe even a killer whale! Another highlight of this western Canada tour is the train ride on Via Rail’s Jasper-Prince Rupert, an all-daylight journey that winds its way through the majestic Coast Mountains, follows the mighty Skeena River (often called the “River of Mists”), and concludes in the Pacific Coast rainforest. From the glassed-in observation dome, watch for soaring bald eagles, black bears, moose, and other wildlife.

In Jasper National Park, free time gives you the chance to take a guided hike, explore the quaint shops, and take an optional excursion to Maligne Lake and Spirit Island. With four nights in Banff National Park, you’ll have plenty of free time to hike, boat, take an optional excursion, and explore all the beauty. In between Jasper National Park and Banff National Park, you’ll witness some of the Canadian Rockies most breathtaking scenery. Stop at Lake Louise, with green-blue waters forming a perfect mirror reflection of Mount Victoria, and visit the Columbia Icefield to ride the Ice Explorer, an all-terrain vehicle that travels on ice measuring 1,200 feet thick. Other stunning scenery includes steep gorges, snowcapped mountains, and exquisite lakes.

This tour through western Canada also includes time and sightseeing in Vancouver and Victoria. For the value-minded traveler, it’s a dream vacation!
